March 20
What did we do?
At 8:00 am we began the long drive back to San Jose (Alajuela), following Routes 245, 2, 34 and finally 27. Shortly after leaving Peurto Jiminez, Route 245 climbs high into the hills where you have magnificent views over the Golfo Dulce; it was the most scenic section of a very scenic day of driving.
We made several stops along the way to San Jose including the charming Mirador Osa, our favorite Uvita bakery for lunch, and finally, the Tarcoles River Bridge to see the crocodiles. The drive took us about eight hours including stops.
